Brolen Homes upgraded to a 4.5 Star Gold iCIRT rating.

Brolen Homes has been upgraded to a 4.5 Star Gold iCIRT rating from Equifax, up from our previous 4 Star Gold rating. For families building across Greater Sydney, it is independent confirmation that the company behind their home has been reviewed again, and came back stronger.

Here is what the rating is, why it went up, and what it means if you are choosing a builder.

What is iCIRT?

When you are building a new home, you want to know you are in good hands. That is what iCIRT is for.

iCIRT stands for the Independent Construction Industry Rating Tool. Developed by Equifax, it was created to help home buyers identify builders with the capability, systems and financial strength to actually deliver the homes they promise.

The important part is that an iCIRT rating cannot be bought and it is not a marketing award. Equifax independently assesses a builder's record, then scores them on a scale up to five stars. A rating is only awarded once that review is complete, so any builder holding one has opened its books and its track record to independent scrutiny.

We did not set our rating. Equifax did, after going through our finances, our governance and the way we work.

What does a 4.5 Star Gold iCIRT Rating mean?

Moving from 4 Star Gold to 4.5 Star Gold reflects sustained performance under independent review, not a one-off result. It tells you the assessment looked at Brolen Homes again and found the business stronger across the areas that matter most when you are trusting someone to build your home.

Every iCIRT rating measures a builder across six areas:

Character — the people behind the business, and the way they have done business over time.
Capability — the licences, insurances and experience to build your home properly.
Capital — the financial strength to fund every project and see it through.
Conduct — a clean record across court judgements, tax and workplace safety.
Capacity — taking on the right amount of work, with the team and resources to deliver it.
Counterparties — the suppliers and trades beside us on every build, and the strength of those relationships.
